  • the name ‘OFFICE-BARN_HOUSE’ was given due to the unusual functions that the barn had to accommodate
  • the building is intended to house a service and residential function in an unconventional way: on the one hand, it gives the possibility of rest, on the other hand a secluded workplace
  • BIURODOM-STODOŁA took its form from a barn existing in a given place, which due to its poor technical condition had to be dismantled
  • however, his story and the owner’s sentiment prompted us to design the form’s reconstruction with changes to the present day
  • the building has 3 independent spaces that can be used as a lobby or apartment or office
  • all 3 spaces can be independent of each other, but they are interconnected so that you can live, work or rest at work at the same time
  • the existing arched entrance gate to the barn has been preserved and this place was used for the garage – garage gates were hidden in such a way that they would not be visible
  • due to the very poor technical condition of the existing barn, a partial demolition and reconstruction of the structural walls was designed
  • old materials used in the old classic barn form – some of the walls were glazed, the staircase was unveiled
  • the typical form of the barn was broken with a cuboidal contemporary block that functions as a bedroom and a flat
  • usable area: 250 sq m, location: Bieruń
